New travel insurance rule for Cuba visitors

Visitors will not be granted entry to Cuba if they do not have travel insurance as the country tightens its entry policy. UK Foreign Office has advised all holidaymakers to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses before travelling to Cuba. From 1 May all travellers are now expected to present the policy on arrival. “If travellers have already purchased travel insurance or have an existing annual policy, they will need to confirm that they are covered for the destination as certain underwriters do not cover Cuba,” warned Essential Travel Director Stuart Bensusan.
