Parents put off by holiday costs

Over 80% of parents are put off booking a holiday because of the cost, a survey by Eurocamp and parenting website Netmums has revealed. Baby items formed part of this cost but a third of parents said they avoided booking a family holiday because they have too much baby equipment to pack. More than two thirds of parents (69%) claimed they packed a pram/buggy, baby rocker, safety gate, high-chair and bedding, which together weigh more than 45kg. This is twice the average flight baggage allowance. Hotel rooms were also an issue as 40.4% of parents were worried about being restricted while their baby slept. Nearly 22% were concerned about entertaining children away from home.
