Spanish resort reports massive rise in business

Occupancy rates at The La Manga Club resort in Spain have risen by 70 per cent year-on-year for the first quarter of 2010. Added-value services offering golf and tennis packages alongside strong UK travel trade and a buoyant winter season attracting visiting international sports teams has fuelled demand, the resort claimed. The positive trend continued during the Easter holidays, a period in which the hotel was fully booked, thanks to the launch of its new Fundlandia programme. Fundlandia will now be extended to run through May half-term, summer and October half-term holidays. The initiative will promote movie nights, egg races, treasure hunts, crazy golf, karaoke, disco sessions and face painting.
