Rail Europe re-launched its website today with a simplified booking process and more information available for travellers. “Booking a one leg journey from London to Paris is relatively simple,” explained Rail Europe Head of e-Commerce Stuart Alldis. “But when you add another leg to that journey, from Paris to Nice for example, things get much more complex, with hundreds of fare combinations from multiple carriers”. On the new website the booking process has been made easier by including more information for those searching on the site. These include interactive maps suggesting routes; destination guides; guides to European stations; information on ticket types and a guide to rail travel. Rail Europe had a surprising boost during its soft launch in March as travellers turned to trains to avoid flight disruption. “We were extremely pleased with the website’s performance over a period when we received an unprecedented 6 times the number of visitors we would usually expect,” added Alldis.
