VisitBritain has launched a smart phone application to coincide with tomorrow’s British Gala screening of Robin Hood in Nottingham. The application will include Google maps and Facebook integration so users can find their favourite film locations, take a picture and post it on the networking sites. “Robin Hood and our new smart phone app are examples of how we can harness the imagery of films and the reach of digital media to promote Britain across the globe,” said VisitBritain Director of Marketing Laurence Bresh. Ridley Scott’s epic Robin Hood follows a line of successful film tourism campaigns by VisitBritain for The Da Vinci Code, Quantum of Solace and Sherlock Holmes. The app can be downloaded at www.visitbritain.com/robinhood.
