Travelport confirmed today it has completed the acquisition of Singapore-based Sprice Pte, which owns and operates travel search engine Sprice.com. Under the deal, agents using Travelport will have access to Sprice’s hotel portfolio using the Galileo and Worldspan platforms. Travelport will also use Sprice’s search technology to enhance its GDS channels, enabling the company to deliver and distribute more content. “With Sprice, Travelport has acquired an established and vibrant inventory of hotel options and comparison tools that will significantly add to our existing hospitality portfolio,” said Travelport Deputy CEO and Travelport GDS CEO Gordon Wilson. With a search engine on board, Travelport will be able to gain insight into traveller shopping and booking behaviours.
