Eastern Airways has launched a new Sunday service from Southampton Airport to Durham Tees Valley. In a bid to grab business travellers and weekend leisure visitors, the Southampton flight will depart at 19.00 to arrive in Durham at 8.05pm. Durham Tees Valley departures will leave at 5.25pm to arrive in Southampton at 6.30pm. “The convenient Sunday service will not only appeal to leisure travellers visiting the north east of England, but also those travelling on business ready for a Monday morning start,” explained Eastern Airways Ground Operations Manager Roger Hage. “The new Sunday service to Durham Tees Valley is a great addition to the schedule offered by Eastern Airways,” added Southampton Airport Managing Director Kevin Brown. “The flight offers greater flexibility for those linking between the south and the north east of England”. The UK regional airline will introduce the new service from 6 June and will complement its existing two flights each weekday. Passengers flying with Eastern Airways are offered a fast-track security channel at Southampton and no charge for baggage, choice of seat or onboard drinks and snacks.
