World Travel Market has launched a year-round executive Think Tank programme for senior buyers in its Meridian Club. It is designed to give members the opportunity for year-round networking and discussion amongst peers. “Meridian Club buyers need to be kept abreast of the latest product and trends to help inform their purchasing decisions,” explained Meridian Club Marketing Manager Mark Jakobsen . He told Travel Daily there are 19,000 members in the club covering all countries, sectors and companies in the travel industry looking to buy products. “The Think Tank programme allows Meridian Club members to network and debate throughout the year about the key issues in the industry,” he added. A meeting examining the sports tourism trend will take place on 3 June at Masterchef judge John Torode’s The Luze restaurant in east London. Another meeting will take place at Aresenal’s Emirates stadium on 2 September, which will focus on the hotel industry.
