Travelport has signed a global long-term agreement with Marriott International. The five-year deal secures access to Marriott’s content, inventory and brands for all Travelport-connected users including corporate customers and retail online agencies through the Galileo and Worldspan systems. As part of the agreement, Marriott has committed to upgrade its current interface on the systems to Travelport’s XML Pro-Direct Connect interface including enhancements to the shopping and pricing functions. In turn, response time for agents should be shortened and purchasing will be more efficient as Marriott will be able to reduce its distribution costs as a result of only supporting a single connection. “Marriott’s upgrade to Travelport XML Pro will give travel agents better visibility to Marriott’s over 15 brands worldwide and will make future changes to the GDS easier, increasing our ability to deliver future functionality enhancements to the marketplace, faster,” explained Marriott Vice President for eDistribution Larraine Voll Morris.
