Camping and caravanning Pitchup.com has launched three new listing options for campsites and holiday parks. The website’s availability calendar has been integrated into Pitchup.com’s search facility and in return, parks can upgrade their listing to accept online bookings. Parks can also upload prices, tariff rules and special offers, as well as work in their own reservation system through its ‘connectivity’ online booking tool. Pichup.com Managing Director Daniel Yates said the service was mainly aimed at the younger, online-savvy audience interested in the increased profile of domestic holidays. “In 2009 the camping and caravanning sector only saw 23% of bookings being made online,” he added. “Our online booking and availability upgrades will enable caravan and campsite owners not only to effectively shift stock during the shoulder season, but also to capitalise in the boom in online travel and target non-traditional customer segments for whom online booking is second nature.” Additional features of the website include video and image options for park member, a predictive search and a Bing map to view areas.
