Oceania Cruises has embarked on a multi-million pound investment to update and enhance its three mid-sized luxury ships. Under the ‘Pillars of Distinction’ programme, Regatta, Nautica and Insignia will receive upgrades in comfort, cuisine and service. Additions include new on-shore experiences, spa menus, guestroom decor and beds, restaurant enhancements and new lifestyle classes. Nautica has already undergone the changes and re-entered service on 4 June. Insignia will be updated in November and Regatta will follow in January 2011. Pillars of Distinction amenities and design highlights will also be incorporated on Oceania’s two new ships, currently under construction in Italy. The 1,258-guest Marina joins the fleet in January 2011 and a sister ship, Riviera, is scheduled for delivery in April 2012. “Oceania Cruises has set new industry standards since we launched the line nearly eight years ago,” said Oceania’s Founder and Chairman/CEO of parent company Prestige Cruise Holdings Frank Del Rio. “With our new Pillars of Distinction initiative we have raised the bar in upper-premium cruising”.
