Tune Hotels.com is set to open its first London property later this year. The London Westminster hotel will open in late August and rooms go on sale from 29 June with a penny per night offer. “We aim to be the hotel in London for the savvy traveler,” explained Tune Hotels.com Group CEO Mark Lankester. “There is so much to do and to spend hard-earned money on in the capital, that we believe the accommodation should do what people want it to do - which is help them sleep fantastically well, knowing they have spent sensibly on that sleep, without paying for things they don’t want or need to use.” The hotels use the business model based on boss Tony Fernandes’ AirAsia brand to provide services such as new towels as a charged extra. Tune Hotels.com-Westminster is the first of 15 locations scheduled to open across London by 2017 for the group. Globally, the brand is aiming for 100 hotels by 2015.
