A new five-star hotel and spa is set to open this summer in Portugal. The property, called The Oitavos, is 20 minutes from Lisbon and set in the Sintra Cascais National Park. It will have 142 guestrooms including 14 deluxe suites, one superior and one premium suite with will all have their own balcony. Dining options will include a gourmet restaurant, sushi bar, tea lounge and casual restaurant with open air terrace. There is also a spa and the Arthur Hills-designed golf course, Oitavos Dunes. In addition, the hotel will have a conference centre for up to 300 people, which has a separate check-in desk, dining facilities and technical support. “The Oitavos is a luxury hotel at the pinnacle of contemporary design and innovation, offering a modern outlook of Portugal yet rooted in Portuguese heritage,” explained Luis Silverio, CEO of Quinta da Marinha Original estate, where the hotel is situated. “The hotel is the culmination of the Champalimaud family’s vision, having first purchased the land during the 1920s”.
