UK market responds well to Azamara updates

Azamara Club Cruises has reported its highest levels of guest satisfaction over the last 100 days after an update in its services. Changes implemented from April have included a butler service, bottled water, speciality teas and coffees, shuttle-buses to/from port communities and house wines with lunch and dinner. “The UK and Ireland market is responding particularly well to the developments, with bookings for sailings in early 2011 up 100% compared to the same time last year,” explained Azamara President and CEO Larry Pimentel. The cruise line has also found that its guests are not the cruise enthusiasts they expected, with over two-thirds of guests since April 2010 on a cruise holiday for the first time. “We hope these findings give agents the confidence to sell Azamara Club Cruises to clients looking for boutique hotel style experiences and first-class service, as well as seasoned cruisers,” added Pimentel. Further improvements and a new brochure are expected to be released this month. To celebrate the achievements, Azamara has launched its agent ‘Sale Away’ promotion to win one cruise a day from 12 to 15 July inclusive. Any cruise booking will qualify for the incentive, which will also give guests up to US$500 onboard credit.
