AmaWaterways expands fleet to meet river cruise demand

AmaWaterways has launched a new vessel, the 162-guest MS AmaBella. Features of the AmaBella include staterooms averaging 214 square feet and double balconies, as well as a chef’s table restaurant and upgraded ‘infotainment’ system. “We are particularly proud of the AmaBella and our entire custom-designed AmaWaterways fleet,” said AmaWaterways President Rudi Schreiner. “Not only are we designing and building the most luxurious, comfortable and beautiful vessels in Europe, but our expansion includes new-builds in Vietnam and a completely renovated vessel in Russia.” MS AmaLotus will begin to operate on the Mekong from next year and AmaBella will be joined by its sister ship MS AmaVerde in 2011. MS AmaKatarina will also launch next year on the Volga-Baltic waterway. “River cruising is growing at an unprecedented rate and we need to keep increasing capacity to meet demand,” explained AmaWaterways’ UK representative Fred. Olsen Travel Managing Director Steve Williams. “Repeat guests and experienced travellers know what they want and expectations are high”.
