South Africa Tourism will embark on a UK roadshow in September to help boost visitor figures after the World Cup. “We will do a roadshow with Emirates to regional areas in the UK to keep up the positive energy from the World Cup and make sure the trade are in the right position to know about South Africa,” South Africa Tourism Trade Relations Manager Matt Armstrong told Travel Daily. The tourism organisation will use the roadshows to fill places on its fam trip, as two agents from each roadshow location will be chosen to visit the country. Additionally, the board’s agent training programme, Fundi, is being re-developed to cater for separate markets. “The programme was global but each region is more specific,” explained Armstrong. He added that the current scheme will stay on the website until the changes are made.
