Open Championship sparks golf break surge

Golfbreaks.com has seen a 16% rise in bookings since the successful Open Championships tournament. Enquiries on the website have also surged 50% following what it called a ‘feel-good factor’ tournament and low prices across UK and European courses. Additionally its sister business, teeofftimes.co.uk, enjoyed its best day of trading once the competition had finished. “The current golf holiday and short-break sector is being led by some amazing offers, both in the UK and overseas, and the conclusion of the Open Championships undoubtedly inspired more golfers to either play the game locally, or book breaks to other parts of the UK, Europe and beyond,” said Golfbreaks.com Director of Product and Marketing Keith Mitchell.
