Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has announced that the Royal Plantation Collection will be re-launched as a Sandals resort in the coming weeks. The move comes after Sandals’ Founder and Chairman Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart said the second brand was no longer needed. “When we introduced the Royal Plantation brand in 2000, it allowed us to acquire properties, talent and practices that have now become part of the Sandals Resorts Luxury Included experience,” he explained. “Now is the time to bring the family together.” The resort, which is on the Jamaican island Ocho Rios, will be re-launched from 1 September. It will remain open throughout the transition and Ocho Rios will operate separately as an island.
