Poland and Australia named as Britain’s top markets

Poland, Australia and Belgium have been identified as Britain’s top income tourist markets, data from VisitBritain has revealed. More than one million Poles visited Britain last year, as well as 903,000 Belgians and 912, 000 Australians. Visitors were drawn to the UK’s cities, heritage and culture, particularly historical sites.  The Royal family, the countryside, shopping and pubs were also seen as key motivators. Travellers from Canada, India, UAE and South Africa also appeared as top UK markets. Additionally, VisitBritain’s data revealed which groups spent the most when they were here.
