New Zealand prepares for World Cup

New Zealand is preparing for the influx of tourists expected in the run up to the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Out of the 85,000 rugby supporters expected to attend the tournament from outside New Zealand, which is the third largest sporting event in the world, 25,000 will be fans from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. “England fans have been early as we expected to confirm their place at key the matches next year and we have already sold over 3000 tickets,” said England Rugby Travel head of Sales Justin Hopwood. “Those Rugby fans can now sit back, knowing all their travel and tickets are sorted and enjoy watching their team in the build up to the tournament as the next year promises to be one of the most exciting for international rugby. Many more are already turning their attention to Rugby World Cup 2011 and starting their plans for the Tournament with it being just one year away and the 2010/11 rugby season now kicking off.”
