Visitor numbers up in Devon

Tourism businesses of the Heart of Devon have seen an increase in visitor numbers over the summer months. The new tourism partnership has seen a 129% increase in visitors to its website and several providers have seen an increase in bookings throughout June, July and August. It has attributed the success down to the staycation trend. Treasure Trails has seen a 275% in visitors and Escot Park and Crealy Great Adventure Park have also reported higher numbers. Meanwhile, hotels and university accommodation has seen a 30% rise in guests, with some properties recording consistent 100% occupancy. Camping has also been popular, as Crealy camp witnessed a 75% rise in bookings.
