Virgin pilots’ dispute settled

Virgin Atlantic’s pilots have settled their dispute and will not strike, BALPA revealed today. The union had threatened industrial action after details to their time off was changed. As agreed, pilots will have a minimum of 120 rostered days off a year and the union is not looking for compensation. “Both sides have conducted talks that were frank, to the point and creative,” explained BALPA’s General Secretary Jim McAuslan. “Whilst the issue has created much debate, we are now happy with both the agreement and the ground that has been laid for our future relationship with the company.”
