Bristol Airport has seen a 1.42% rise in passenger numbers throughout August compared to last year. More than 680, 000 travellers passed through the terminal last month, totaling to four million so far this year. The rise in passengers has been attributed to fewer flight options, indicating that airlines operated with high load factors. “These results follow an announcement by Flybe that it will operate a twice-daily service between Bristol and Belfast City from November,” said Bristol Airport Aviation Director Shaun Browne. “We hope to have further good news for travellers soon as we look to build the South West’s connectivity to key destinations across the world.” Meanwhile, North Somerset Council has recommended approval for the airport’s development plans. If expansion goes ahead then the airport’s terminal, car park, public transport and aircraft stands will be improved.
