Holiday Extras sees rise in bookings

Holiday Extras has reported a considerable rise in bookings since the launch of its new travel agent website.The company’s sales for the past two weeks are up 20% from the same period last year and business is continuing to pick up following the recession. CEO Matthew Pack told Travel Daily that despite a slow start to the year, summer sales have been successful. “We’re witnessed a 10% rise in airport parking sales and a 15-20% rise in airport hotel bookings since the agent friendly website launched earlier this summer,” explained Pack. He added that while airport parking had remained relatively popular during the quiet period, the company had only recently seen a rise in ‘luxury’ extras such as airport lounges and hotels. Meanwhile, Pack said the speed of the se4vrice has further encouraged bookings. “Our research told us that customers don’t want the ‘extras’ process to take long. They’ve booked their holiday, paid a lot for it and are very excited- they don’t want to sit around in a travel agency after this discussing insurance for hours on end,” added Pack.
