Austravel predicts Kiwi cycling holidays will be popular

Austravel has predicted there will be a surge in Kiwi biking holidays, following news that final funding of the New Zealand Cycle Trail has been approved. Work on the nationwide cycle network, which got the final go-ahead on 23 September, is already underway and will ultimately consist of 18 ‘Great Rides’ and 2000km of cycleway. “The New Zealand Cycle Trail will not only cement the country’s reputation as a mecca for outdoor pursuits, but it will open active holidays up to a broader audience,” Austravel Brand Manger Ben Briggs.”Keen cyclists already know that New Zealand is great for biking - there are few other countries that can offer such a diverse range of landscapes in one bike ride, from glaciers to fjords to beautiful beaches - but the trail will open cycling holidays up to one and all, even novices.”
