Hays Travel has secured a contract to operate its own BTEC apprenticeship programmes in house. Hay’s Training Manager Katie Woods-Ruddick said the move is a ‘natural progression’ as the company has a ‘long track record’ of training up school or college leavers. “We already have a fantastic development programme for our apprentices and by delivering this in house we can make it a more holistic process, thus enhancing the learners’ development journey,” she explained. “We really believe that this will enhance our employees’ learning and development and will also give us complete control.” The service will also act as leadership and management training for current staff. As a result, Hays has expanded its training team. The qualifications have been developed with Pearson Work Based Learning.
