Turkey continues popularity

Turkey’s popularity with the British holidaymaker is set to continue, according to a range of recently compiled lists. The destination has climbed one place in the UNWTO’s top ten visit countries by tourist arrivals to seventh. In addition, PricewaterhouseCoopers anticipates its tourism sector to expand by 12.1% between 2010 and 2013.  It has also been named the second most popular destination in the UK market, according to market research agency GfK Turkey. “Turkish tourism has been a spectacular success this year and the future remains bright, with visitor numbers continuing to grow,” said Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay. “Looking ahead, we’re confident that our tourism industry is poised for even greater growth.”
