Pegasus boss forecasts 40% passenger growth

Pegasus’ passenger numbers will increase 40%, according to the airline’s chairman. Ali Sabanci has predicted that 8.3 million travellers will fly with the airline this year following the launch of seven new international routes. “In 2006, we carried fewer than three million passengers and this year we will carry 8.3 million; with growth set to reach up to 50 percent next year,” said Sabanci. Pegasus also revealed that it expects to enter a codeshare partnership with Air Berlin next year after its parent company acquired a 16.5% stake in the airline.
