Oman Air has revealed that its load factor has grown since it became involved with the UK travel trade. As well as a range of fam trips and training sessions, the airline has held several sociable functions to build relationships with travel agents and tour operators. “We have had an increase in operators who are specifically marketing Oman as a destination,” Peter Hill, CEO of Oman Air told Travel Daily. “We expect to see buoyant figures from that next year.” In addition, the airline will have more flights to offer clients once Oman Air expands its European schedule. “We have launched 13 new routes in the past year,” said Hill. “Next year we are looking at perhaps another destination in Europe and a destination in the Far East.” Furthermore in 2014, the airline will boost capacity when its Dreamliner is delivered. Meanwhile, Hill said Oman Air would be looking to increasingly promote Muscat as a destination airport rather than for stopovers.
