Anantara expands luxury portfolio across Asia and the Middle East

Luxury hotel chain Anantara is to debut seven new resorts in the Maldives, China, Indonesia and Oman by the end of 2011. Expanding its portfolio to encompass 50 hotels within the next five years, the brand is to open the Anantara Kihavah Villas in the Maldives, Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa - the hotel group’s first venture into China on Hainan Island - and Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort & Spa, located in Yunnan province. In Bali, Indonesia, the Anantara Uluwatu Resort & Spa will open, while in the Middle East, the Anantara Al Madina A’Zarqa Resort & Spa in Oman will open 60 minutes from the capital Muscat. Abu Dhabi’s Sir Bani Yas Island, which is already home to Anantara’s Desert Islands, will also see the launch of two new luxury properties. “The great selling point of our new properties in the Maldives in particular is that guests will now be able to do a circuit of several islands in the Maldives chain,” Marion Walsh-H
