Aid efforts heals Saint Lucia tourism relationship

Humanitarian efforts in Saint Lucia have helped settle a previously ‘antagonistic’ relationship between the island’s cruise and hotel sectors. Andrew McHale, executive vice president of Saint Lucia’s Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) said the dispute was now ‘a thing of the past.’ He also thanked Captain Karin Stahre-Janson of Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas for donating supplies during the aftermath of Hurricane Tomas and pumping water to the country. “Your support has helped sustain our vital tourism industry – it keeps our doors open for business, our nationals employed, and will ensure a sustained economic recovery of the island,” said McHale.
