Cosmos fills Algarve gap left by Big Two

Cosmos has announced that it will continue to operate its full winter programme to the Algarve despite TUI and Thomas Cook’s withdrawal from the destination. The destination is the third most popular package gateway for the operator, particularly with the grey market. “Our winter programme is currently running almost 25% ahead of this time last year with the majority of bookings for packages as opposed to accommodation only,” said Ian Hailes, head of product and commercial for Cosmos Mainstream. “We will continue to support our Algarve hotelier partners and currently have in excess of 100 properties on sale for this winter.  It has always been a strong destination for our group, both from a tour operating and flight only perspective.”
