UK arrivals to Central America up 3 percent

Countries in Central America have seen a 3 percent rise in British visitors following new flight connections and increased promotion. According to preliminary figures from the Ministries of Tourism in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama 52, 270 Brits visited the area in the first half of this year, compared to 50, 555 in 2009’s same period. Meanwhile the region’s overall international arrivals are up 17 percent, with a 5 percent increase in European guests.
