Liverpool records largest passenger traffic increase

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) has seen the biggest rise in scheduled passenger numbers in comparison to other UK airports, according to the latest traffic figures. Data published by RDC Aviation by the CAA revealed that 225, 000 additional passengers flew through JLA from January to September this year. This is 5.6 percent up on the same period last year and a total of four million travellers used the airport by the end of September. “Once again its credit to all here at the Airport that Liverpool continues to out perform other UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester, which have all continued to experience a decline in passenger numbers throughout the year,” said Craig Richmond, CEO of JLA’s operator Peel Airports. “Whilst we recognise we now have a difficult few months ahead as we enter the quieter winter period, it is pleasing that for most of the year we will have been at the top of this particular league table.”
