UK snow storms save ski industry

Record numbers of British skiers have been inspired by the UK’s snow storms to book ski holidays in the Alps. Following the unprecedented levels of snow fall in the UK over the past two weeks, ski holiday specialists Ski Power has been inundated with calls. In particular, it has seen a marked rise in calls from families and couples who have then decided to book a ski holiday. “Whilst the snow in the UK has been a nightmare for some, it has been a life saver for the ski industry,” Craig Norwood, managing director of Ski Power. “Pre ski season sales were at an all time industry low this year, so the snow storms that have swept the UK and the continent, and thus inspired bookings, have been a welcome relief. Year-on-year, the past two week’s bookings are up by over 150 percent.”
