Snow hits BAA traffic figures

BAA has reported a 1.7 percent drop in its traffic growth due to the snow disruption. The airport operator revealed its passenger numbers could have increased 2.7 percent compared to last year but were thwarted by bad weather. “It has been a tough month for passengers with the worst snow for decades,” said Colin Matthews, chief executive of BAA. Meanwhile, Stansted suffered a 7.6 percent drop in passengers after several low-cost airlines pulled flights from the airport, while Heathrow enjoyed a 4.3 percent increase in traffic.
