Barbados Tourism Authority reports record pick up from advertising campaign

The Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) has reported a record response for its latest TV, print and online advertising campaign. In association with key tour operators and hoteliers including Almond Resorts, Virgin Holidays, BA Holidays and Elegant Hotel Group, the campaign brings to life the variety and richness of Barbados as a key holiday destination. The campaign was created by Mirabelle Communications, which is also responsible for visitmalta.com and boohoo.com. “We wanted to create a series of lessons which would allow us to showcase the diversity of this amazing destination,” said a spokesperson from Mirabelle. “There are so many fabulous things to see and do in Barbados that the only real problem we have is choosing the lessons we want to convey. This campaign has true longevity and means we can touch on a number of themes which reach far beyond the idea of sun, sea and sand that is usually associated with a Caribbean destination.” Petra Roach, vice president, UK, Barbados Tourism Authority, added: “Barbados has always fitted with notions of sun kissed perfection so we really wanted to ensure that via this campaign, we were able to showcase the true variety of the destination. The ‘lesson vehicle’ enables us to play with so many different themes that it was the perfect one to communicate the diversity of the country in all its techni-coloured glory.”
