Edinburgh Airport launches 30 year vision masterplan

Edinburgh Airport has launched a national consultation on its masterplan to help increase passenger numbers to 12.3 million by 2020. The document, which describes how the airport will develop and grow over the next 30 years, is being put to interested parties from across Scotland before the full document is released in July of this year. “The masterplan is our vision for our airport, the blueprint for its development over the coming years,” explained Kevin Brown, managing director of Edinburgh Airport. “It is a document that shows Edinburgh Airport, as Scotland’s busiest airport, playing a crucial role in the growth and prosperity of Edinburgh, the Lothians and Scotland as a whole. Over the next few months, we will be consulting on this masterplan as widely as possible, gathering opinion and comment from people, communities and organisations across the country on how our vision fits with their aspirations and plans.”The main points of the proposal are:
