Accor, one of the largest international hotel operators in Asia Pacific, has secured an additional 25 new contracts in the luxury to mid-scale segments in Greater China. The twenty five new management contracts involve four of Accor’s brands — Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel and Mercure - were all been signed during 2010. The contracts also extend into tier-two and tier-three cities, such as in Guiyang, Changsha, Zhuhai and Huizhou where Accor sees significant potential. Meanwhile, Accor has also announced that the company signed more than 70 new development contracts in Asia Pacific during 2010, which will add over 16,000 hotel rooms to the network. “Among the 25 hotel management contracts signed in the country this year, Pullman represents more than 50 percent of the total, or 13 hotels, followed by six Novotel properties, four Sofitel and two Mercure developments,” read a company statement.
