Celtic Manor announces two new outdoor adventure facilities

Home of the 2010 Ryder Cup, the Celtic Manor Resort has announce brand new conference and event facilities. With event and conferencing space designed to host up to 1500 people, Celtic Manor now offers two new outdoor activity experiences, in addition to golf, clay pigeon shooting, mountain biking, fishing and tennis. Celtic Manor’s Adventure Golf Course, scheduled to open in spring 2011, offers even complete golf novices the chance to experience some of the most famous holes in golf. There will be two miniature nine-holes golf courses with one based on a selection of the world’s best courses including St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Augusta and previous Ryder Cup courses, The Belfry and Valhalla. Located in woodland adjacent to the Resort Hotel, Celtic Manor’s ‘Treetop Adventure’ is also set to open in summer 2011 and feature both high and low ropes courses, bridges, walkways, and challenging obstacles made from wood, rope and wire. “Events have always been an important part of the business and being the Ryder Cup venue in October last year really boosted the number of corporate conferences and meetings through our doors,” said Ian Edwards, chief operations officer at The Celtic Manor Resort. “Not only is there a certain prestige associated with hosting meetings and events at a Ryder Cup venue, clients know that we have the ability to offer that little bit more, such as team building activities, corporate golf days or spa incentives.”
