European destinations increase all-inclusive packages

European holiday destinations are increasing their range of all-inclusive packages to compete aside further afield countries, according to Shearings. Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany are said to have upped their all-inclusive offering in the last month in an attempt to draw Brits back from the Caribbean, Mexico and Egypt. “All-inclusive holidays have historically been enjoyed by people travelling further afield to less familiar destinations, where the assurance of quality food and drinks was seen as an added benefit,” said Caroline Brown, commercial director for Shearings Holidays. “Now they are considered by many as a way of budgeting for their annual getaway and making sure they get the best value.” The tour operator has seen a 21 percent increase in these packages and is now encouraging travel agents to tap into the trend.
