There has been a surge in demand for charter flights out of Bahrain as business travellers get away from the violence, according to Chapman Freeborn Airchartering. The aircraft charter company expects to receive more requests in the next few days as multinational corporations consider bringing employees home as a precautionary measure. “As the situation in Bahrain continues to develop we are prepared to deal with a further increase in charter demand,” said Darren Banham, group passenger director at Chapman Freeborn. “Our 24 hour flight operations team is monitoring events around the clock. The company has put jets and aircraft on stand-by to ‘evacuate’ travellers from Bahrain to other locations such as Dubai.
