The Selous Safari Company launches charity packing initiative

The Selous Safari Company has teamed up with a holiday packing scheme to help provide supplies for children around the world. The tour operator is working with Pack For A Purpose to encourage tourists to save space in their luggage for medical supplies or educational materials. Through its website, travellers will be able to find out which supplies are needed the most, then arrange to hand them to the lodge manager on arrival. “Five pounds (2.27kg) can be as much as 400 pencils or five deflated soccer balls,” said Rebecca Rothney, chairperson of Pack For A Purpose. “It’s startling to see just how little some schools and clinics have to work with. I believe we can all find a little space in our luggage for a bag of supplies.”
