Bahrain travel industry remains positive

Comment from Paul Clabburn, group general manager of Bahrain International Travel Group:
“The recent incidents in Bahrain did have an initial negative impact on business as people waited to see how matters unfolded before making any travel decisions whether for business or pleasure. Air transportation itself was unaffected with all flights and Bahrain International airport operating normally. With parties now ready to engage in proactive dialogue, business has returned to near normal as people become confident again in being able to make appropriate travel plans. February is generally one of the quietest months for travel from the Kingdom anyway. There were definitely encouraging signs of an upturn in travel movements from Bahrain seen at the beginning of the year and everyone hopes that the ongoing discussions will only lead to a better future for all in the Kingdom and as a result growth in the travel industry.”
