Banyan Tree launches agent incentive

Banyan Tree and sister brand Angsana has launched an agent incentive to run alongside its ‘Karma Comes Around’ online promotion. For the next two weeks, travel agents will receive a 10 percent commission for every booking made in the campaign, which offers resort credits to guests. “Travel agents recommending our brands, expect real value. They want their clients to enjoy a compelling incentive for booking early and be assured that it is not a gimmick or that something better will come up at the last minute,” said Arthur Kiong, managing director of hotel operations Asia Pacific and senior vice president group marketing services at Banyan Tree. He added that he believes  travellers are moving away from deal-led holidays. “The growing travel demand driven by the global economic recovery is resulting in travellers being disappointed when they book at the last minute,” said Kiong. “For this past couple of years, they have been conditioned to do this to enjoy the best deals. This is no longer so.”
