GDS distribution boosts Worldhotels bookings by 20%

Worldhotels has revealed that it recorded a 20 percent increase in GDS sales last year compared to 2009. The hotel group has seen a 25 percent rise in nights booked across all its hotels, boosted by GDS sales, call centre bookings (up 41 percent), its own booking engine (up 51 percent) and its website (up 38 percent). “2010 turned out to be a year of recovery for the hotel industry, and a particularly successful year for Worldhotels,” said Robert Hornman, managing director of Worldhotels. “Our focus was on driving revenue and growing market share across a number of different markets, business segments and channels and we are very satisfied with our 2010 results.”
