Marriott International has announced that it is more than a quarter on its way to achieving its expansion plans. The hotel chain announced last year that it would double its European portfolio to 80,000 rooms in five years but it has already added several through its new brands. These include the new Autograph Collection, named AC Hotels by Marriott, which has added 9,100 rooms to its bank. In addition, Marriott is set to officially open the Renaissance Paris Parc Le Trocadero and St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel in the next few months, as well as the JW Cannes. Meanwhile, the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts and Edition brands are to expand in London, with an Edition also to open in Istanbul. In Munich, a Residence Inn is set to open.
