Taiwan Tourism Bureau has announced that it will launch its first online training scheme later this year. The programme will be available from May and is part of the tourism board’s growing trade focus. “Until now we have focused very much on tour operator partnerships and consumer marketing, but we believe the time is now right to specialist long-haul agents with a training programme,” said Joanna Walding, representation director at The Saltmarsh Partnership, which handles Taiwan’s marketing in the UK. “It will give agents a chance to learn about what makes Taiwan special.” The online training course is part of Taiwan’s ‘Tour Taiwan 100’ campaign, which has introduced 100 new cultural and activity tours across the island.
