Dominica records increase in British visitors

The Caribbean island of Dominica has seen a six percent rise in visitors to the UK. Around 4,600 Britons travelled to the island last year and believes the market is attracted to its nature based strategy, which includes its’ no hotel chain policy.  “We have noticed an increased interest in people wanting to experience the other side of a Caribbean holiday and it is very rewarding seeing this being reflected in our latest visitor figures,” said Joanna Walding, UK representative of Discover Dominica Authority. “The Caribbean as a region has had its challenges last year, but Dominica is well placed to serve those who are looking to experience our ‘Nature Island’ and with support from all of our partners we aim to further grow in 2011.”
