Etihad Airways to open Manchester contact centre

Etihad Airways has announced that it will open a contact centre in Manchester. The centre will create 160 jobs in the city and has been praised by Lord Green, UK trade and investment minister. “Our contact centres handle around 2.5 million calls each year, and we expect more than half of these calls to originate from non-Arabic speaking markets by 2012,” said James Hogan, CEO of Etihad. “As our network continues to grow, it is increasingly important for us to provide high quality, multilingual assistance for customers who choose to book directly with the airline.” The Manchester office is the first contact centre to airline’s first to open outside of the UAE.
